# Michael Meding

> Michael Meding is a German mining executive who has led the Los Azules copper project in San Juan, Argentina, since February 2022 and is Managing Director of McEwen Copper. Under his leadership the project received its environmental permit, published its feasibility study and became the first copper project approved under Argentina's RIGI investment regime. He was named Mining Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024 and 2025 and is president of GEMERA, Argentina's chamber of exploration companies.
